Barcelona SC is currently assessing the decision made by the FEF concerning an improper lineup in a Copa Ecuador match, which has resulted in the club's elimination from the tournament. The club's legal department will be responsible for handling the process, as Andrés Altamar, the new sports director, explained during his recent introduction.

The FEF's Disciplinary Commission's decision determined that Barcelona SC had an improper lineup with Erick Mendoza during a match against Liga de Portoviejo, leading to the loss of the match in the Copa Ecuador's octavos de final. This decision not only eliminated the team from the tournament but also created a new administrative situation for the club.

During his introduction, Altamar clarified that the club does not yet have authorization to support the decision and that the legal department will handle the process. 'At the moment, we do not have authorization to support this. Our legal department will handle this process. We have received the resolution, but our legal department will continue with the process,' he stated.

The club's legal team will need to thoroughly analyze the document received by the institution to determine the best course of action. For now, the team's focus will remain on the Liga Ecuabet, while the administrative and legal aspects of the club continue to address the FEF's decision.

This situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by clubs in Ecuador's football league system and the importance of adhering to the rules set by the governing bodies.
